Staff Accountant

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting financial reporting activities. This role works closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and other departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, schedules, and account analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA-track a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Yardi, or QuickBooks.
